We are excited for a year of learning at Lindblom. Game Programming is a yearlong CTE course designed to teach high school students the basics of computer science and software engineering. In this pathway (continuing in Game Programming 2 and 3), High School students will learn Java syntax, procedural logic, 2D rendering, and eventually object-oriented programming, using frameworks like Processing.org (in Java) and industry-standard tools (Git) for collaborative version control. By focusing on hands-on, project-based learning, students will learn how to write software like single-screen arcade games. The curriculum not only prepares students for careers in software development but also equips them with the critical problem-solving and teamwork skills essential for the modern workforce.
